2027 All-New BYD Seagull Opens for Early Reservations: Upgraded Dimensions and LiDAR Option
The new BYD Seagull will launch on October 20. The company previously opened blind pre-orders for the vehicle. The new car features upgraded dimensions and mounts high-level intelligent systems like LiDAR. Notably, the all-new Seagull changes the interior layout from four seats to five seats. This update further improves the passenger experience.
Regarding the exterior, the new car adopts a brand-new design style. Buyers can choose from six different paint colors. The front end pairs a closed grille with sharp crease lines and polygonal headlights. This combination creates a strong sense of fashion. The roof also mounts a LiDAR sensor. This addition will further enhance the vehicle’s intelligent driving assistance capabilities.
On the side, the vehicle features semi-hidden door handles and gloss black wheels. The hidden B, C, and D pillars help create a great sporty feel. At the rear, the car adopts a brand-new taillight design. An exaggerated rear diffuser trim panel further boosts the sporty visual effect. In terms of dimensions, the all-new Seagull measures 4205mm long, 1810mm wide, and 1570mm high. The wheelbase spans 2650mm. Compared to the current model, the body grows by 425mm, and the wheelbase increases by 150mm.
Inside, the cabin adopts a fresh design language. The layout greatly enhances interior storage capacity. The center console features a larger infotainment screen. Designers removed the traditional instrument cluster but retained some physical buttons. The console provides a wireless charging pad. A massive central storage area sits just below it. Meanwhile, the brand-new two-spoke steering wheel looks much cleaner and simpler.
For performance, the all-new Seagull retains a pure electric powertrain. It is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor (model TZ164XYB). Zhengzhou BYD Auto Co., Ltd. manufactures this motor, which delivers a maximum power of 95kW. For energy, it utilizes a lithium iron phosphate battery pack. Shaoxing FinDreams Battery Co., Ltd. produces both the battery cells and the final assembly.
